![]() ![]() A Switch version is scheduled for release later this year.Techland has released the Dying Light update 1.39 patch this October 14, which should show up as the Dying Light The Following Enhanced Edition update 1.30, as the game has different version numbers depending on the region. It may have taken a few months for Techland to get to this point, but Update 1.4 and Update 1.5 tease a bright future for Dying Light 2.ĭying Light 2: Stay Human is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Regular technical updates designed to fix various bugs are also planned to occur more frequently, coming regularly between the major expansions and the content updates. In the same behind-the-scenes video that teased Update 1.5, Techland revealed that this marks the start of its planned cycle of updates, with a big content refresh planned to occur every 3-4 months between the game's major expansions. There's currently no official date for when players will get to download this new update, but Techland has said that it'll likely drop in a "couple of weeks," so fans won't have to wait too long. While the Balanced Mode offers 60fps at 4K, the VRR Mode keeps the game at 1080p, but unlocks the fps. Named Shen Xiu, this new Agent is apparently a skilled tracker, and an archery expert, and is looking to hire a Nightrunner to help her with some as yet unknown tasks. The next update heading to Dying Light 2, simply called Update 1.5, is doing exactly that, bringing a new Agent to the game that'll offer their own unique sets of missions and bounties. ![]() ![]() Update 1.4 was the first step in Techland's five-year roadmap for Dying Light 2, and set the groundwork that all future updates will build upon. This character acts as the hub for all the new missions and bounties in the game. This update introduced a "Chapter Agent" called Harper. The last update Dying Light 2 received was the 1.4 Update, which added the long-requested photo mode, along with some extensive tweaks, changes, and additions regarding the way missions work. Not every update has been major, but each one brings even more value to an already great game, keeping players around for longer. Since Dying Light 2's launch back in February, the game has been updated multiple times, each one adding a variety of new content like brand new missions, new gear, new Infected types, and even entire game modes. However, in recent years, even big-budget single-player titles have started adopting the live-service model in one way or another. Originally intended to keep players around for longer than ever before, when done right the live-service model can increase the longevity of a game exponentially, which is perfect for online multiplayer games. ![]() The live-service model has become one of the most popular forms of delivering content in the modern age, and it's evolved quite a bit since its popularization in 2017 with titles like Fortnite. ![]()
